Italy, the perfect country to pass your summer vacation. And while we're there, we try to walk, talk and act like a real Italian. Because we all have these images in our head, prejudices about the Italian people. Do they really eat only pasta and pizza? Do all the people in Sicily belong to the Cosa Nostra? Time to separate fact from fiction and discover the true Italians!
They eat pasta two times a day, seven days a week. Fact, but that doesn't mean they eat spaghetti bolognaise every single day. Tagliatelli di mare, Macaroni with ham and cheese, penne all'arrabbiata, with more then 600 types of pasta and even more sauces the possibilities are endless. Besides, probably you eat boiled potatoes three times a week, in Japan they eat rice and in China noodles. It's exactly the same.
Italian men are the best lovers. This is a tough one. According to an international poll, only the Spanish and Brazilian men do better. We'd say fact, since second runner up is not bad at all. They are known to be very romantic, charming en they know the right tricks to seduce you. Does that make them unreliable? No more than any other men. Times have changed and so did the Italians. They used to be real heartbreakers, but the time when they chat up anything with legs and boobs is definitely over.
All Italians are trendy and fashionable. Fiction. All the business men wear the same style boring suit, and we assure you that most girls buy at H&M and Mango instead of Fendi and Prada. And the rumor that Italian men look gay, with diamond earrings, hair gel and curly chest hair? Fiction as well.
And last but not least: An Italian boy will always love his mother more then he loves you. Not only is this a fact, we have numbers to prove it. Most of then see their mother daily, and there's a good chance she still buys his underwear. Met a cute guy who is single and older then 35?
Bet you he still lives with his parents. Italian mama's are real mother hen's and very attached to their sons. 1 out of 3 divorces is said to be caused by an impossible mother-in-law. But once you've strengthened your position and have shown her that you are here to stay, she'll happily accept you and treat you as her own daughter.
