Why do we have sign language anyway? The most international reason for sign language is for the hearing impaired. People even use it when trying to communicate with people who speak a different language. It is easier to 'act' something out than to try to figure out their language when you do not know it.
Well the Italian culture is widely known for their ability to use sign language with their speech. You may tease about it, but it is real and fun to learn. There are many online resources to learn more about the Italian Sign Language. Just type it into your Internet search engine and thousands of resources will come up. Try it out and have fun with it. It actually will help when you learn to speak Italian.
There are many reading resources that use the technique of pictures with words to remember how to spell them. My son actually learned his multiplication through a story about multiplying. It gave him a visual. When I was in medical school I memorized the medical terminology by making a short story of each part of the word that would actually talk out the meaning of the word. In this same way, learning the Italian language will be easier because you will be able to visual the sign with the new words you learn. This is a positive reinforcement for your second language.
In addition to putting the visual signing with the new language, visa verse, you will be able to put your words with the hand gestures. Either way you use it, you will be able to learn the Italian Language easily while having fun with it. You may even find yourself liking signing and further your education with Sign Language. There are many employment benefits to having these skills. Court rooms and hospitals are always in need of translators of any language. Learn American Sign Language, Italian Language with signing, Spanish, Chinese or whatever else draws your interest. All of these options will greater your chance for a better life advancement if you pursue it.
However, in my own personal opinion, Italian language with signing is the most fun and easiest second language I have attempted to learn. It holds my interest and encourages me to learn more about the Italian culture. What motivates you and gets you curious?
